Mini Bio
I was born in Rio de Janeiro in the 1970s and since I was a little child I enjoyed drawing and painting.
I grew up in São Paulo where I lived until my teenage years. I discovered a charming city and became a paulistana at heart.
Upon returning to Rio with my family, I did my first studies of Art at the Park Lage School of Visual Arts. I studied drawing, painting and Art History. That´s when I realized that I wanted to work with Art.
After a few years in Rio, I returned to São Paulo where I graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Fine Arts. I also studied engraving at the Lasar Segall Museum, and theater at the Macunaíma Theater School. I worked with art education projects developing pedagogical materials for children, for both the Museum of Contemporary Art of São Paulo and the National Historical Museum of Rio de Janeiro, as well as Art restoration and design, among many other for different institutions.
I participated in some Exhibitions both individual and collective ones, receiving prizes at the Visconde de Mauá Winter Salon and the 2nd Teresópolis Arts Salon. But it was in the children’s literature that I found my best form of expression. In 1992, I began to write my first works. Over the years, I have improved the texts and today I have a diversified collection of titles ready for publication while writing many others.
In 2015, I began to participate in FLIP – Feira Literária Internacional de Paraty – as a writer and scholar of children’s literature. I visited the Montreal Book Fair in Canada for the first time in November 2016, where I met two of my favorite writers: Marie Louise Gay and Rob Scotton. Besides packing up to visit others Children’s Book Fair, I am also promoting my writings for publishers in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and very soon, for Portugal and Canada.
